Types of Lessons

Private Lessons
Your private lessons are specifically geared towards you, or you and your partner. Everything is geared towards your current goal, whether that is a specific event or something in your own personal technique, your long term goal, and skill level. We will go at a pace that ensures continued growth while still making sure that its a positive experience.

Group Classes
Group classes are great tool to help you in your dancing. In the private lessons it is geared towards you and your body, but in a group setting, when you first learn a new pattern everyone is apart and learning their own footwork, so you learn think faster while also not always relying on your partner to be right in front of you. Its also a great chance to get to know everyone and hopefully make some new friends. And once you have the steps down we will eventually rotate around and switch partners, making a better and more versatile dance partner.

Beginners Salsa and Social Latin Group Class Is Here!
Saturday, October 20th, 2018, 7:00- 8:00 PM
Recurring at same time every week afterwords
Finally!

This is a 60 minute, once a week class. Its titled as such because due to its extreme popularity, we will spend a little over each class on Salsa, and the rest of the time we will rotate between Bachata, Merengue, and Cumbia.

Please try and get there a little early to sign in.

Class is $10.00 per single person per class, a couple is $15.00 per class. Discounts available for buying in bulk.

I DO need everyone interested to contact me and let me know if you think you are coming.

Attire: Be comfortable but for shoes, ladies, either a flat or heel but make sure the heel has a back and the heel should not be too thin as its hard to balance and it will stab through the floor when you start really dancing.

If you like the class as I of course know you will, try and make it as often as possible. The goal is to get enough people ready to start an intermediate class as soon as possible.

I cant wait to see you all on the floor!

With so many choices in Social Dancing to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming. Its completely fine if you aren't sure what you want to learn just yet, but these categories can give you a better idea what the different styles are like,

IMPORTANT! You do NOT need to pick one style. In fact, to stay well rounded in your social dancing, I encourage you to keep a well rounded program.

Also important. No dance is off limits. Everything starts from the beginning, so go for it!

Latin/ Rhythm
Rhythmical, Entertaining, Expressive
Not to be mistaken with Social Latin, which is next, Latin is the counterpart to the Ballroom division. The dances, depending on what level you currently are, can be any of the following: Rumba, Cha-Cha, Swing, Mambo, Bolero, Jive, Paso Doble, or Samba. One of the main characteristics of these dances is the beautiful hip action, and even for the slower dances, a ton of energy which make them very fun to dance, but also very entertaining to watch. If you find yourself wanting to clap along or bob your head to music and can barely sit down when your favorite song comes on, these upbeat energetic dances would be a great option.

Social/ Street Latin
Fun, Usable, Current
Very arguably the most popular form of partner dancing right now, Social Latin, especially the Salsa, is taking over the world. Its been danced for around 100 years, but it seems most of the world is just catching on. Fast, energetic, fun, and usable, the dances in the category Social Latin are Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Cumbia. Ideal for the crowded dance floor, you can find your spot in the corner and stay in one place or if you have the room, go for it. Because of this, Social Latin Dances are some of the absolute most usable and versatile dances around. Think about it, who hasn't heard of Salsa?

All of the Swing.
Fun, Fun, Fun
Like Salsa, Swing is the other one that everyone has heard of. Even though Swing and Jive are offered in a more traditional form within the Latin dances, it has become its own entire subculture, and I have known plenty of dancers who dedicated their entire professional careers to nothing but the various forms of Swing.

The different forms of swing I can offer: East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindyhop, Jive, Jitterbug, Shag, and Carolina Shag.

Ballroom
Traditional, Sophisticated, Classy.
Even though the term Ballroom Dancing is an all inclusive reference to almost any partner dance, there is a division of partner dancing designated to what is known as Ballroom, Standard, Or Smooth. The dances in this category are Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, and Quickstep. Though each of them has its own signature style that sets it apart, they all have some root in the same technique. If you enjoy watching dancers that glide around the floor like a music box, or you maybe just enjoy a sense of tradition and discipline about your dancing, you are in the right category.

Getting Married?
Come in for a lesson and a wedding consultation!
For wedding clients we will do things a little bit differently. You will still come in for a regular lesson, but we will focus primarily on the dance that your song calls for. We will then sit down and discuss certain details of the wedding such as the band, DJ, floor plan, etc. in order to insure that you will have the best wedding choreography possible to help make the most important day of your life even more memorable. Future programs will be custom made based off of your wedding date and availability.

Price of hour long dance lesson and thirty minute consultation afterwards: $75.00 (covers both members of the couple)

"As a lifelong dancer, I have had many partners, but Cole was by far the best. Dancing with him every week was the perfect creative and emotional outlet. He really listens to what you have to say and works to collaborative with you on what you need."
